In August gourmet chefs competed using Chile Olive Oil in order to create the best dessert all in the support of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.
Competing restaurants and bakeries included: Baked by Butterfield, Tu-lu’s Gluten Free Bakery, Todd English’s Olives , Isabelle’s Curly Cakes, Delicatessen, The Naughty Housewife, Puro Chile, and Il Laboratorio del Gelato.
Judges included Ryan D’Agostino of Esquire; Elizabeth Gunnison, freelance writer for various publications such as The Wall Street Journal; and Debra Kletter, founder of Eatquest NYC.
The judges declared a tie win between the Chilean Olive Oil Cake with Marscapone and Almond brittle by Delicatessen’s Chef Kate Cowan and Double Fudge Chilean Olive Oil Brownies by Puro Chile’s Camila Moreno.
Each dessert was spectacular and was able to highlight Chilean EVOO at its sweetest!
